Listing Display Options and Categories
Do you know that you can setup our software to have virtually unlimited categories and listings? Our software provides a powerful and unique 3-way main category system. You create 3 different sets of unlimited main categories which are connected between each other such as For Sale, For Rent, Wanted as action action categories, computers, apparel, merchandise, home supplies, as general categories and west coast, south, west, southwest as location categories. Further you can create subcategories such as Computers -> USA -> New York -> Manhattan..., the specifications are endless. The categories provide a preview of the listing and thumbnail photo. Your users can sort preview results according to any field in ascending or descending order. admins who are currently online are marked with a green flag. Users can browse full listings, save listings to hotlist, send listings to friends, send mails to admins, view admins profile, report listings to you and view full sized photos (only if their account permissions YOU define allow them to).

Automatically generate thumbnails for posted images (requires free perl modules GD.pm OR image::magick pre-installed on your system and our thumbnail creation module). No more manual resizing. All photos your user/admins upload will be resized to a thumbnail size YOU define. Listing process is fully customizable by admin, create your own individual listing service. Display all forms on one large page or split up into several steps between pages, making it easier to edit. Example: The first step determines the category that fits best. Example: The second step gathers detailed information about the listing. Example: The third step gathers the headline and listing description text, you can limit the amount of words optionally. Example: The fourth step gives the user/admin the opportunity to upload pictures and other media files like videos, audio, doc files, etc. Pictures can be previewed first before going to the final step. Example: The final step is to review and confirm what has been submitted, at any time your user/admins can go back to edit any part they want. Note: Until the listing has not been submitted, the listing is still incomplete. Ability of showing submitted listing fields during listing process on each step. Ability of "submit & preview" button during listing on each step, so if the user/admin just wants to make a tiny change he/she can do so quickly and conviently. Depending on how you set the listing type, it can either be posted right away or waiting for your review and approval. You can set the days the listing remains active. Updating the listing does not extend the listing expiration date. Ability to automatically keep track of the total number of listings posted by user/admins. After user/admin has posted the maximum number of listings allowed, definable by admin, they are not allowed to post any more listings until they delete some of their old listings OR upgrade to a higher account. Optional use of pre-defined values for States and Countries. Otherwise, user/admins write in their own values. Multimedia content allowed! user/admins can upload and display photos, sound files, and video clips and other documents in listings and their multimedia galleries. Multiple File format upload (wav, media, gif, exe, xls, doc, etc...). Multiple photos/images to appear per listing, user/admins can upload unlimited number of images to their photo gallery and assign upto 10 photos to their listing. Thumbnail photos will be automatically resized if their full size if too big to fit in summary format. Optionally display the posted date on listing pages. Optionally display of expiration date on listing pages. Ability for administrator to set the maximum number of words that may be contained in certain fields (such as the "text" field that contains the body of the ad). Size of included text in listings can be controlled by the administrator. Preview feature that allows user/admins to preview their listing before it is posted. Our HOTLIST feature allows users to save certain listings for later viewing. When they come back in the future and click on "My Hotlist" in their control panel, the program will display all of their saved listings. We call this "the digital equivalent of circling listings in the newspaper." "Send this listing to friends" facility, linked from ad preview and full ad page listing, helps promoting your service and spreading the word. "Report this listing" facility, users can report listings that violate terms etc., helps keeping clean content throughout your listing pages. Counters in the control panel along with the listings telling how many times the listing has been viewed, how many times the listing has been replied to, and how many times saved to hotlists. Links within each listing for modifying or deleting the listing. Ability to scale thumbnails to maintain proportions of original graphic, and the option of having the program autoscale the thumbnails to a given width and height. Automatically send email notificiation to user/admin if their listing has been replied to. Users can see whether an user/admin is currently online or offline while browsing categories. Users can rank listings anywhere in categories and in search results according to posted date, most replied, most saved or most viewed. Users can sort any field in category browsing results in ascending and descending order. Expiration of listings Listings are set to expire after a certain amount of time as defined by admin. Optional automatically send notification by e-mail to users whose listings are about to expire. Admin can choose whether to keep expired listings in database or delete them from database.
